Blooloop: Paying with FYRE: RFID technology and a festival that never happened

March 12, 2019 - Blooloop talks with Anthony Palermo, Co-founder at Connect&GO about ticketing, the future of RFID technology and the doomed Fyre festival in the Bahamas. In the article, published in March 2019, Palermo takes us through the evolution of Connect&GO, and how his interest in revolutionary technology would set him on the path to founding the Montreal-based company.

The article talks about how Anthony met Connect&GO Co-founder Dominic Gagnon, and the first project they embarked on together: developing a loyalty program to enhance the fan experience at Saputo stadium. Together, Anthony and Dominic created the "Key to the Stadium" which was a red key embedded with an RFID chip that allowed fans to interact with experiential activations throughout the stadium.

The project and the concept quickly took off, and the pair made over $1 million in the first year, signing Canada's largest festival followed by a number of large projects like the Super Bowl, activations in the Olympic Village and more. They were introduced to the Fyre Festival by a partner in the industry.
